The onset and progression of the coronavirus has families throughout the world living through an unprecedented period of uncertainty. Governments, and healthcare professionals across the globe have urged (and sometimes mandated) social distancing measures to help stem the spread of the disease, including school and company closures, and depending on where you live, restrictions on group gatherings. The result is that many people are now confined to their homes, isolated from loved ones for an unknown period of time.
Consequently, people are seeking new and creative ways to find fulfillment, connection, and purpose, from the comfort of their own living rooms.
Introducing Keep Calm and Game On! A new series of articles providing families with information, resources and tips on how to stay connected, sane and mentally engaged during this period of social distancing and isolation.
And because we know that board gaming is one of the oldest, tried and true ways to connect with each other, immerse ourselves in other worlds, and forget about our concerns if only for a little while, most of the articles will include information about tabletop gaming and its benefits for engaging young (and not so young) minds, connecting as a family, or just taking a break to laugh and create memories of that time we all had to stay home.
Stay safe, stay healthy and happy reading!
